24 Weeks

Week 24
How far along? 24 weeks, 1 day
Baby is the size of a: banana split! I saw this comparison today and it made me laugh.
Total weight gain: Not really sure. Enough that I feel like a hippo.
Maternity clothes?  Yep.
Stretch marks? None yet.
Sleep: Better now that I’m back in a decent bed. Mark’s bed on base was horrible and my back is killing me because of it. I miss Mark, but I don’t miss that bed.
Best moment this week: Spending time with my handsome husband. We had a ton of fun together, but we could have just sat together all weekend and I would have been happy.
Miss Anything?  I miss not feeling huge.
Movement: Tons and tons. Mark even got to feel a few kicks!
Food cravings: Margaritas again.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Apparently airplanes. I was classy and had to use the barf bags on my flight. Embarrassing!
Gender:  IT’S A BOY!!! Who knew?! I was definitely shocked, but I’ve gotten used to the idea and I’m very excited. If our son is anything like his dad, I will be one very lucky mom.
Labor Signs: None.
Symptoms: Heartburn, hunger, fatigue.
Belly Button in or out? In, but it’s getting shallow.
Wedding rings on or off? On, except in New Orleans, where I’m fairly certain they were twice their normal size. I was concerned that they might never go back to normal!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy.

Looking forward to: my baby shower this weekend!

23 Weeks

Week 23
How far along? 23 weeks, 1 day
Baby is the size of a: large mango. This must be a huge mango. Baby should be around 11 inches and over a pound
Total weight gain: Don’t even want to know.
Maternity clothes?  Yep.
Stretch marks? None yet.
Sleep: Doing well for the most part! I wake up a lot to pee, but that’s to be expected
Best moment this week: Getting ready to go see Mark!
Miss Anything?  Running! I want to go for a long jog soooo badly.
Movement: Lots of movement. It still feels so weird to me.
Food cravings: A grilled chicken wrap…random…and I have no idea where to get one.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Doing ok, but uh, hello heartburn, thanks for joining the party.
Gender:  WE GET TO OPEN THE ENVELOPE TOMORROW!
Labor Signs: None.
Symptoms: Like I said, heartburn. It’s AWFUL.
Belly Button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On, but I’m sure the heat and humidity down South will make me swell like crazy.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, but there have definitely been some moods the past few days.

Looking forward to: going to the beach over the next few days! I can’t wait to relax and enjoy some time with Mark!

22 Weeks

Week 22
How far along? 22 weeks, 2 days
Baby is the size of a: spaghetti squash. Baby weighed in at approximately 15 ounces, so nearly a pound!
Total weight gain: According to the doctor’s office I’m up 5 lbs (but I was wearing clothes and shoes and I’d eaten and drank a tons of water). Actually, my doctor said I might want to try a little harder to put on weight!
Maternity clothes?  Yes. Yes. Yes.
Stretch marks? None yet.
Sleep: I’m tired a lot, so I sleep pretty well for the most part. Steven and I take naps in the morning, which helps
Best moment this week: Seeing baby on the ultrasound yesterday! I wish Mark had been able to be there, but it was still wonderful to see our little baby and know that he/she is healthy and growing perfectly.
Miss Anything?  I’m pathetic…I still miss Mark.
Movement: Tons. And it was really cool to feel movement and watch it match up with the movement on the ultrasound screen!
Food cravings: Frosted mini wheats with ice cold milk sounds FANTASTIC. I think I know what I’m having for lunch…
Anything making you queasy or sick: I’m on the queasy side today, but nothing in particular is causing it.
Gender:  We’ll find out in ONE WEEK!
Labor Signs: None. My doctor said she’d start talking to me about contractions and what to look out for when I go in next in 4 weeks.
Symptoms: Light headedness. I get dizzy a lot!
Belly Button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On for now
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy
Looking forward to: Flying down to visit Mark in Mississippi next week! I can’t wait to visit New Orleans, go to the beach, see my wonderful husband and oh yeah, find out if we’re having a boy or a girl!

21 Weeks

Week 21
How far along? 21 weeks, 1 day
Baby is the size of a: pomegranate. Baby is approximately 10 1/2 inches long and 3/4 of a pound
Total weight gain: I remembered to weigh myself this morning! I have gained 1 pound from my starting weight…although, I was wearing clothes, so maybe not.
Maternity clothes?  Yes. Yes. Yes.
Stretch marks? None yet.
Sleep: Eh, baby likes to kick at night, so I have trouble falling asleep. Luckily, my boss lets me take naps whenever he naps. It pays to babysit a 3 month old!
Best moment this week: I GET TO GO TO THE DOCTOR NEXT WEEK! Tricare officially approved me to see my doctor, so I’ll get to have my ultrasound next Wednesday. We’re one step closer to finding out what we’re having!
Miss Anything?  Still missing my Marky Mark, not that that really relates to pregnancy.
Movement: Yes! Lots of kicking and my mom and I felt baby hiccups today!
Food cravings: Pretty much all kinds of food haha. Right now…I want cake.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Today has been good! Still not feeling beef.
Gender:  I keep calling baby a she and pretty much everyone is betting it’s a girl. I’ll be shocked if it’s a boy at this point!
Labor Signs: None
Symptoms: Swollen fingers and toes most of the time. I also get dizzy and short of breath at mass for some reason. All that standing, sitting and kneeling, I guess.
Belly Button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On, but maybe not for much longer if it stays hot like this!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy

Looking forward to: Our ultrasound next week! I can’t wait to see my little nugget!

Whooooaaaa, we're halfway there! 20 weeks!

Week 20
How far along? 20 weeks, 1 day
Baby is the size of a: banana (about 6.5 inches head to rump, 10 inches head to heel)
Total weight gain: Still slightly below my starting weight. Which means weight gain is coming soon
Maternity clothes?  Yeah, my pants won’t button even if I try. It needs to get warmer so I can wear my maternity shorts! They apparently don’t make maternity jeans for us vertically challenged folks
Stretch marks? None yet.
Sleep: Better! I’ve been so exhausted that I’ve been falling asleep almost immediately. Definitely miss having Mark next to me though, even if he is a mouth breather at night ;)
Best moment this week: I’m home! Like I said, I really, really miss Mark, but it’s good to be back!
Miss Anything?  My amazing husband.
Movement: Oh yes. This kid is being pretty active at times! It’s a weird sensation, feeling a human inside my belly…
Food cravings: Today, I really want a tuna sandwich. Uh, weird. (Don’t worry, it’s safe to have up to 12 ounces a week!)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Today has been a queasy day. Other than that, still, no red meat. Ew.
Gender:  Still thinking girl! If Tricare cooperates with me and lets me see a doctor, we’ll hopefully find out soon.
Labor Signs: None
Symptoms: My tail bone hurts! And my hands and feet swelled up quite a bit a few days ago. This summer should be fun!
Belly Button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On, but I couldn’t get them off the other day when my fingers swelled. I need to start keeping an eye on them!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy. The only thing making me mad is Tricare.

Looking forward to: Visiting Mark in a few weeks!

19 Weeks

Week 19
How far along? 19 weeks, 1 day
Baby is the size of a: mango!
Total weight gain: I keep forgetting to weigh myself! As of a few days ago, I was still down 5 pounds
Maternity clothes?  Mostly, yes.
Stretch marks? None yet.
Sleep: Ugh. What’s sleep? It takes me hours to fall asleep at night. Partially because  my bladder needs to be emptied every 30 minutes and my feet feel like they’re on fire. But, also because baby is most active at night and the little kicks are still new to me, so I stay up so I can feel them. Oops.
Best moment this week: Is it sad that this week my best moment may have come from eating a Philly? Whatever, it was amazing.
Miss Anything?  I miss shopping in regular sizes. Maternity clothes are ugly, boring, and expensive.
Movement: Some! Like I said, mostly at night. Sometimes I freak out when I haven’t felt anything for awhile.
Food cravings: Uh, chicken Phillies. Oh. My. Gosh. What is my problem?
Anything making you queasy or sick: I don’t want red meat. Nasty.
Gender:  Had another baby girl dream a few days ago!
Labor Signs: None
Symptoms: Food dreams haha
Belly Button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On, but as it gets warmer, my fingers are swelling more.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, but I usually get a little irritable by nighttime.

Looking forward to: Going home and seeing my family and friends! But knowing I’ll be without Mark is making me incredibly sad. I think we’re really over the whole long distance thing.

18 Weeks

Week 18
How far along? 18 weeks, 1 day
Baby is the size of a: sweet potato or a bell pepper
Total weight gain: I weighed myself a few days ago and I was only down 5.5 pounds.
Maternity clothes?  Oh yes.
Stretch marks? None yet.
Sleep: Still having a weird sleep schedule. If I could just sleep 7 hours straight, it’d be a miracle. I think my body is just preparing itself to be woken up at all hours of the night by an infant.
Best moment this week: Finally got a date for when I’m going home! See you next Saturday, Normal!
Miss Anything?  I don’t want wine, I don’t want beer, I just want a giant margarita on the rocks.
Movement: Come on, baby, KICK ME! I’m ready for it!
Food cravings: Barbeque sauce. We went to a cookout the other day and one of Mark’s friends had smoked ribs all day and it was covered in caramelized BBQ and oh my gosh, it was heavenly. Now I can’t get enough of it.
Anything making you queasy or sick: I’m getting better! Ground beef still sounds revolting.
Gender:  I’ve been referring to baby as  “she” without realizing it. Until Mark calls baby a “he” and I’m like WHAT? We should find out in about 2-3 weeks if baby cooperates!
Labor Signs: None
Symptoms: So many weird ones. Some are too embarrassing to post online.
Belly Button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: I’ve been happy! Now that the worst of my morning sickness is over (I’ve still thrown up a few times the past couple of days, but at least it’s better), I’m just excited about this baby. I haven’t really experienced many mood swings, I just cry at random things.

Looking forward to: Going home next week! Although…I’m not excited about Mark and I going long distance again for a few weeks.
